The Enemies
By Elizabeth Jennings (1926 – 2001)
The Enemies is a poem about how an army invaded a town without any violence. After they took over everyone was suspicious of each other and are less friendly than before.
The mysterious men who invaded the city did not take it by force but peacefully and without any violence. None of the people in the city dared defend themselves because they were afraid. Instead of fighting they try to get on the good side of the men by entertaining them and feeding them.
A current event today that is similar to this is the attempt to global unification. The globalists plan to unite all the world. Everyone seems not to care, and they let the group come and take over like the people in the poem. Most people who know about this do not say anything for fear of sounding like conspiracy theorists.
