The Balloon-Water Experiment
In this experiment, we will endeavor to explain the effects of static electricity between water and balloons that have been charged.
The first step in this experiment is to procure a balloon by fair or foul means. You will have to take this 100% legitimately acquired inflatable piece of plastic and rub it frivolously against your hair.
The second step is to move the balloon near the stream of water and watch the result. If the balloon is caught in the water, it will be harder to pull out because the balloon has positive charged molecules that cling to the water, which is partly negatively charged.
When I charged the balloon, it stuck to the water, but when it was not charged, the balloon wasn't attracted to the water; I could easily pull it out of the water.
