Genesis 1: 1-2

Genesis 1: 1-2

Genesis is the first book of the Bible and it is attributed to Moses. The first two verses are:

1.  In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

I like these verses because it tells us that God created the earth. In the second verse, the Spirit is the Spirit of God through which all things were created. When Jesus came to earth, He was filled with the Holy Spirit and lived a sinless life. Because He was the son of God, He knew what was right and what was wrong, so whatever He said was true.

I learned that before God created the world it was covered in darkness, was without form, was covered in water, and empty. God created everything out of nothing thus proving that he was the creator!
