Electromagnetism

Electromagnetism is made up of two words, Electric and Magnet. When electric charges move, they create a magnetic field around them. This is known as electromagnetism.

To demonstrate Electromagnetism, scientists have created an electromagnet by charging a coil of wires. What makes these magnets so useful is that they can be turned on and off with the flick of a switch. When increasing the amount of electricity in the wires or increasing the number of wires, the magnet's strength increases.

Moving a magnet around an electromagnet can create an electric charge. Increasing the speed that you move the magnet and how strong the magnet is changes the strength of the electric charge.

Moving a coil of wire around the magnet will also charge it.
