Ben's life in Philadelphia
After Benjamin Franklin went to Philadelphia, he got a job at a printing house, where he worked with its owner doing different things, such as typesetting, sometimes writing articles, and other odd jobs.
Sometime later, he had to back home for his father to make sure he was safe. He took a letter from the governor to his dad asking him whether he wanted to help the governor set up his son in the printing business, but Ben's dad told him that he thought his son was too young to start.
When Ben got back to Philadelphia, the governor had decided to help him anyway, because the city had no good printers, and asked for a list of the materials he needed in a printing press.
Ben gave him a list, and the governor told him that he needed to go to Britain to pick the types and look for anything else he needed.
The next ship that sailed to Britain was a few months later, so he had to keep it a secret.
