Bald Eagles
Eagles are a type of bird of prey that lives on every continent in the world except Antarctica. Male Bald Eagles can grow to be 90 cm (36 inches) long and to have a wingspan of 2 meters. Female Bald Eagles, grow larger than males and may reach 108 cm (43 inches) in length and have a wingspan of 2.5 meters (8 feet).
These majestic eagles are America's symbol. They make giant nests that house their chicks. These nests can be found in the branches of large isolated trees. They are usually 1.5 meters wide and house two to three eggs.
Male bald eagles typically weigh around 4.1 kg (9.0 lb), while females weigh in at around 5.6 kg (12 lb). This bird reaches 56–70 km/h when gliding and flapping. Its dive speed is between 120–160 km/h.
