Alexander and Diogenes
There once was a cynic philosopher named Diogenes who did not care for any earthly positions and lived like an animal. It was said that this man ate food raw and drank only out of a bowl. A cynic's mindset is that every luxury is worthless.
One day, Alexander the Great visited this man for advice for his life. The man told him to go away and leave him alone. Alexander supposedly shouted at him: “I AM ALEXANDER THE KING,” but the cynic responded with the same tone: “I AM DIOGENES THE CYNIC!” Before leaving, Alexander asks the old man if he needs anything and the cynic responds that he would be happy if Alexander would get out of his sunlight.
